Photodehydrogenation of Ethanol over Cu2O/TiO2 Heterostructures

The photodehydrogenation of ethanol is a sustainable and potentially cost-effective strategy to produce hydrogen acetaldehyde from renewable resources. optimization this process requires the use highly active, stable selective photocatalytic materials based on abundant elements proper adjustment reaction conditions, including temperature. In work, Cu2O-TiO2 type-II heterojunctions with different Cu2O amounts are obtained by one-pot hydrothermal method. structural chemical properties produced their activity toward under UV visible light illumination evaluated. photocatalysts exhibit high selectivity production up tenfold higher evolution rates compared bare TiO2. We further discern here influence temperature absorption performance. Our results point combination energy sources in thermo-photocatalytic reactors as an efficient for solar conversion.
